Circular Economy Switzerland (CES), GS1 Switzerland, and BloqSens AG are jointly developing a Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform

Biel/Bienne, 11.05.2026 – Circular Economy Switzerland (CES), GS1 Switzerland, and BloqSens AG are jointly developing a Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform. The DPP Circle is designed to help companies comply with future EU regulations.

CES and GS1 in Bern, along with BloqSens in Biel, are launching the DPP Circle, a collaborative platform designed to accelerate the exchange and practical implementation of the Digital Product Passport in Switzerland. According to a statement from CES, the goal is to bring together companies, experts, and partners to discuss specific applications, experiences, and solutions.

The Digital Product Passport is part of the EU Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR) and will be phased in as a mandatory requirement starting in 2027. It includes information on products, materials, and supply chains and will become a prerequisite for many industries to access the EU market.

The DPP Circle is aimed at companies across the entire supply chain, as well as associations, solution providers, and circular economy organizations. Sectors such as textiles, furniture, mattresses, cosmetics, and other consumer goods are particularly affected.
Among other things, the platform offers access to best practices from Switzerland and Europe, guidelines, and industry comparisons, as well as the opportunity to test new approaches and tools and exchange ideas with other stakeholders. The goal is to accelerate regulatory preparation and operational implementation within companies. Additionally, the DPP Circle aims to help companies derive business benefits from the new regulations.

The kick-off event will take place on June 8, 2026, at GS1 Switzerland in Bern.
