What happens if a DBP provider disappears from the market?

What happens if a battery passport service provider (IT service provider, passport provider or similar) disappears from the market due to business closure, insolvency or similar?
How is it ensured that the battery passports and the underlying data are still available and accessible?
 

  • This is indeed a very important aspect.
    The EU directives stipulate that third-party services must be explicitly integrated for back-up services so that data is not lost if a service provider leaves the battery pass chain for any reason. It will therefore be ensured that specialized service providers are available to implement such backup services when the EU regulations come into force.
